Switzerland hosts roughly 1,200 internationally mobile tertiary students from India (Eurostat, 2024), and ETH Zurich ranks 8th in the QS World University Rankings 2027. Non-EU graduates of Swiss universities can stay up to six months to look for work.

Eurostat counted 1,218 mobile tertiary students from India in Switzerland in 2024, up from 879 in 2019. India's Ministry of External Affairs reports 2,064 Indian students in Swiss universities as of January 2025. ETH Zurich is 8th and EPFL 22nd in the QS World University Rankings 2027.
