Belgium hosts a small but growing number of Indian students. Graduates of Belgian higher education institutions can apply for a search year of up to 12 months to look for work or start a business.

Eurostat counted 824 mobile tertiary students from India in Belgium in 2024, up from 476 in 2019. India's Ministry of External Affairs puts the figure at 1,178 as of January 2025. Brussels is home to the European Commission, which makes the country a base for students interested in EU affairs.
