Spain hosts around 1,000 to 1,200 Indian students according to Eurostat and India's Ministry of External Affairs, a small share of its international student body, which is dominated by students from France, Italy and Latin America.

Eurostat counted 1,059 mobile tertiary students from India in Spain in 2024, up from 703 in 2019. India's Ministry of External Affairs reports 1,192 as of January 2025. The largest groups of international students in Spain come from France, Colombia, Ecuador and Italy.
