Education New Zealand data show India accounted for 14% of New Zealand's 92,580 international student enrolments in 2025, second only to China. Between January and August 2024, Indian enrolments grew 34% to 10,640, with university enrolments up around 64%. Graduates can apply for a post-study work visa of up to three years, depending on their qualification and length of study.
